English and Maths
GCSE Achieve is the ultimate tool for secondary schools and colleges to improve learner support for English and maths. All elements of our solution are in line with the new GCSE 9-1 specifications and have been designed to support your preparations for the GCSE and IGCSE examinations.
GCSE maths is split into 5 modular courses:
Ratio, Proportion and Rates of Change
Geometry and Measure
Probability and Statistics
GCSE English is split into 2 modular courses:
Each of the modular courses consists of a diagnostic assessment, a corresponding suite of interactive resources, and matching practice exams.
The GCSE Diagnostic Assessment is the first part of the GCSE process and has been designed to identify learners’ individual skill gaps. Once the assessment has been taken, the system produces an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) which highlights each student’s areas of strength and weakness.
The tracking and reporting information produced by the Diagnostic Assessment is extremely useful, in that it assists tutors and managers with lesson planning, learner management, and the evidencing of student outcomes.
The second part of the GCSE process consists of the GCSE Learning Resources. These are made available to the learner once the Diagnostic Assessment has been completed.
The resources provide information, examples, and demonstration videos in order to teach topics to students and thereby fill-in their identified skill gaps. Learners can pause and replay the videos at any time, whilst the resources themselves are fully interactive and self-marking.
The third and final element of the GCSE solution is the Exam Practice. This is designed to assist each learner with their exam preparation and revision. Exam-style practice questions – accompanied by additional support resources – are presented, with each learner able to work through these at their own pace. Both the foundation and higher tiers are covered, and our GCSE Exam Practice now includes End Tests which allow students to confirm their competency in areas where they have previously demonstrated weakness.
The Exam Practice is extremely valuable for organisations in that it bridges the gap between learners developing their skills and taking their ultimate exams.
Tablets and Mobile Devices
The GCSE solution is compatible with tablets and mobile phones. However, we do not recommend that learners complete their Diagnostic Assessments on handheld devices as some browsers contain grammar and spelling checkers which cannot be manually disabled.
